#LA isn’t in any sort of trouble, it’s just that things are starting to get a little overwhelming sometimes. Please take time to read the situation we are in, and consider helping out if you can.
BitTorrent Issues.
I’m sure many of you are aware of the current torrent situation of our releases. The torrents just don’t get seeded well at all. Sure, for 24 hours or so after release there is 3+ seeds for awhile, but after that it’s all back to just me. It is very difficult to seed 40+ torrents on my own and still get the episodes to the fans at a decent rate. Many times I’m sending less than 1kB/s on the torrents because there are so many active at one time.
This is my first request of help: Reliable Seeders.
We are in need of seeders who have the time and bandwidth to be able to leave many torrents seeding at the same time for long durations. For example, I have been seeding MAR 01 ever since it came out 20+ weeks ago. We need dedication, maybe not quite to the extreme as I have done, but someone to help share the burden.

Direct Download Issues.
As many of you know, the MegaUpload service that we have been using has its setbacks. For example, there is a download limit that limits you to only about 2 downloads before waiting a fixed amount of time before you can download again. I am aware of this, and the fact that there are a few workarounds to this. I have tried, and will continue to try using MediaFire as a better alternative, but sometimes even MediaFire isn’t reliable. I believe the only way to get reliability without drawback or circumstance would be paid file hosting.
This is my second request of help: Dedicated file-hosting.
A dedicated file hosting service would be an excellent way for people to obtain our releases at high speeds all the time. The only downside would of course be, it is not free. So this request goes out to people with spare hosting they are not using, or some really generous people that wouldn’t mind paying for hosting for us. This isn’t as important as the other 2 requests.

Fileserving in Channel Issues.
Some people actually do prefer IRC over BT and a hosting service, but unfortunately when they try to look for our releases in our very own channel, it is hard for them to obtain at reasonable speeds. As of this writing, only 1 other person serves our releases. It is kind of frustrating when people come in looking to obtain the episodes that we release, only to say to get it somewhere else (via BT or the MU/MF link).
This is our third request for help: Serve in the channel / Donate XDCC bot.
Now I’d be extremely happy if we had another 1 or 2 people in our channel that served all our releases like Meteora and I do, but a dedicated XDCC bot in channel would probably benefit everyone alot more. For a channel of our size, we by no means need a 100mbit bot, but something with the very least a dedicated 50-100kB/s would be spectacular.

I try really hard to bring these episodes to the fans as fast and freely as possible. I sincerely thank you all for the kind comments people have been saying about us. We will continue to try our hardest and do our best for a solution to these problems as the releases keep coming.

About time, huh? Extremely later than first expected, but we finally put together a small batch torrent of episodes 1-10. There will be more batch torrents to come. 11-20 will most likely come out after next week. And then the next one after that would be 21-25.
We are not batching in seasons, as seasons take too long to come out. So instead we will now batch in 5 episode increments.
It is extremely important that if you help seed this release, you must rename your files to the following: [LA] Prince of Tennis – 001 [ENGLISH DUB WEBRIP].wmv, [LA] Prince of Tennis – 002 [ENGLISH DUB WEBRIP].wmv, and 003, 004, etc etc.
That will be the new triple digit numbering system, please get used to it. After you rename them, seed the torrent like you were the previous episodes. That should be all there is to it.

Very much like episode 2, I am promoting goat’s copy of Afro Samurai episode 3. This is better quality than his analog cable tv rip. Look for only the webrip of this episode by him next week on episode 4.

After last week’s unexpected non-release, today brings what we all wanted to see. Well, some of us…
This weeks episode of POT introduces a few more characters… Kabaji and Atobe Keigo. And I’m not sure what to say on these, as I am completely biased, and favor the Japanese voice actor of Atobe Keigo. But to each his own. You decide what you like.
Look for MAR a little later today, maybe around 10PM (CST).

No. I didn’t rip the SpikeTV.com webrip of this episode, as they have gotten smarter after they saw how easy and how many times that was downloaded and shared. But I am going to promote [goat]’s copy of Afro Samurai episode 02. Keep in mind we are in no way affiliated with each other. This is just a way of trying to get the word out on such a great series.
Why? Because more people NEED to see this. Seeing all the people coming into the channel asking for episode 2 got a little discouraging because I couldn’t provide it. So I am now going to promote getting this release for all of those people who are looking for a good quality episode two. No, its not a 480p rip, its a screen capture rip of the streaming copy. Its quite watchable and very enjoyable. Probably the best quality one available.
I have taken my time and uploaded the episode to MegaUpload also, so you can have a fast(er) way of obtaining the episode.

Yes, a little later than usual, but only a few hours. So be quiet. Anyways..
OH… MY… GOD… More bad voice actors. I mean, they ruined one of my favorite characters in this show. Sengoku Kiyosumi has been mutilated. I know the amount of mental shock you all must feel, and I feel the same way. Even though Sengoku’s part in this episode is very limited, you can still hear his voice enough to distinguish his VA is going to continue to sound horrible with Sengoku’s persona.
And I still can’t get used to Fuji’s stoner voice. Good thing I have the entire current Japanese dub of Prince of Tennis in my collection of anime that I can use to make myself feel better after watching something like the English dub.
And all this talk about Prince of Tennis isn’t fair for those who come and download MAR. So here is my MAR part of the blurb: “I did not watch it.” The End.

Suprise! That’s right, I have ripped and released Afro Samurai episode one from Spiketv.com and am releasing it to you guys, without the buffering and the “commercial” breaks. [*Edit: It seems I overlooked the final a bit too quickly. As I seem to have forgotten to cut 2 movie trailers that have been placed at about 2/4 and 4/4 the way through the episode. Try not to be too agitated by this. As I am not going to v2 this.] Although there is a brief 5 second still ad in the beginning, that shouldn’t bother you guys much if at all. Afterall, this is a 4 day advance release before its television debut.
Don’t know what Afro Samurai is? I have mashed up some information on it for you.
Afro Samurai is a Japanese doujinshi manga series, created by Takashi Okazaki, which has adapted into a 5-episode anime television series, produced by Japanese animation studio GONZO.
The TV anime series is set in a “futuristic, yet feudal Japan,” and stars a black samurai named Afro. The story follows Afro as he tries to avenge his father’s murder. In the world of Afro Samurai, it is said that the one who becomes No.1 will rule the world. But the only rule in this world is that only the No. 2 is allowed to fight the No. 1. The No. 2, the Afro Samurai, travels the road looking for revenge on those who murdered his father in front of him when he was just a boy. The focus of his attentions is No. 1, a three-armed gunman who is the lord of the dark swordsman’s road. Several silent assassins attempt to eliminate No. 2, the only man allowed to fight No. 1.
The anime series features Samuel L. Jackson as the voice of the titular character and also features Ron Perlman and Kelly Hu as character voices. Wu-Tang Clan member RZA produced the original musical score, which is due to be released on compact disc by Koch Records on January 16, 2007 in both explicit and edited versions. The series has been slated for five episodes and is set to air in the United States on Spike TV and Japan on Fuji Television.
The series has also been licensed for North American distribution by Funimation, whose first DVD release is planned for May 2007. In August 2005, Japan-based game developers Namco announced they would be releasing Afro Samurai-related video games in both Japan and America.
Afro Samurai is also slated for airing in Japan sometime following the US broadcast. The show will feature the original US voice cast and will be shown with English subtitles.
I do not know whether or not any groups plan on capturing Afro Samurai off SpikeTV, but I highly encourage them to do so, because I have no idea if Spiketv.com will make available all 5 episodes online. And it would be a shame if only a few people knew and saw this great looking anime.
