Well this is kind of odd… I was expecting a double release again today. Unfortunately it’s just Prince of Tennis 32. Although it has been nice having just 1 release, I really do prefer releasing two episodes on 1 day, take a week off, and repeat. Now I have to work a wee little bit more every week, but that doesn’t matter much.
In case you haven’t noticed, the filesizes for the Prince of Tennis episodes have been decreasing a little bit each week. No, I did not start to encode these into a different codec format for better compression sizes. It’s just the way the Jetstream has been releasing it. I’m not sure why, but I’m certainly not complaining. The “quality” looks the same either way.
[/start Peter Griffin impression] You know what really grinds my gears? [/end Peter Griffin impression] The English voice cast for the Prince of Tennis. Seriously, almost all the actors have no expression or feeling for the characters they are voicing. It is utterly unbearable to watch your favorite characters become mindless expressionless drones. This makes me, and every single Prince of Tennis fan out there, absolutely furious. The official dub is almost as good as the fandub put out by Anime-Otakus. Almost.
I’m absolutely determined to create a FAN DUB that is far superior to the official dub. I am not quite sure of what episode to dub yet, but I wish it to be a good one. And of course, I am not going to be stingy like the people at VIZ and have only 1 person voice all the characters. That’s where the real fans come in.. If you are interested and think you might be able to contribute your talent of voice acting to this project, comment here, or somehow get a hold of me, and we can work something out. I think this is an awesome project for a bunch of real fans to do. Maybe set up a protest against the current English dub cast and demand a recast, collect a lot of digital signatures, print them out, include the finished copy of the episode that the fans dubbed, put it all in a package and mail it to the studio’s door.
Okay, I guess the whole last part probably wont happen (who knows, if there are enough people interested, it could). But I do want to dub an episode with some fans..

I use to do fandub voice acting like 10 years ago when i was in middle school. Of course i’d be alot better now since i had a college radio show for four years when i was in college.
I actually don’t mind the voices and have respect for american voice actors who have to deal with being compared to the original japanese voice actors. We’re not japanese and can’t sound like them and should give characters voice our take on the character.
Anyway i love the anime and i’d be up for voicing a character fandub wise, any of them. I think i like viper best in show but as voice wise im more of a nice guy sounding person so momo, eiji, fuji.
Let me know, it be kinda fun.

I think the English VAs are doing a good job considering this was a cheesy anime to begin with, even in the Japanese version. The animation is horrendous, and the filler is appalling.
